# How do I transfer my contacts from Google or Gmail?

1. To transfer your Gmail/Google contacts, go to this page: https://contacts.google.com/
In the main menu, use the "Export" function. Select the format "vCard (for iOS contacts)", do not use CSV, and download the file to your computer.

2. Open your Nextcloud account and click on the Contacts section (direct link: https://drive.cloudvip.be/apps/contacts/). In the lower left corner click on "Settings", and do "Import contacts" then "Select a local file".
In File Explorer, select the "contacts.vcf" file previously downloaded from Gmail/Google.

The import process will begin and may take a few minutes depending on the number of contacts.
