# What are the email account limits?

Storage

Email account storage is limited as follows:

- Web Perso: 1GB

- Web Pro: 5GB

- Web Business: 10GB

- Web Performance: 25GB

When your email account reaches its limit, you can either:

- Move old emails locally to one of your computers,

- Remove large attachments from some emails; certain email applications allow you to do this,

- Upgrade to the next plan. (After Web Performance, migrate to a VPS Email plan.)

You should be aware that the SMTP (email) protocol was not originally designed for sending documents. Base64, the encoding used to transfer email attachments, requires up to 37% additional space, meaning that a 20MB file will occupy 25MB in an email. (

We therefore recommend using your mailbox for its original purpose: sending text, with or without formatting (HTML). See the “Message size” section for more information.

Sending / receiving

Email sent using the SASL protocol (with authentication) is limited to 100 messages every 20 minutes. This is more than sufficient for normal mailbox use.
If you need to exceed this limit each day, you are probably sending bulk email and are not using the right tool. Please contact us and we will recommend an appropriate solution.

There is no receiving limit, provided that this does not endanger our infrastructure (for example, mail bombing).

Message size

Message size is limited to 50MB. This is twice the limit of a Gmail account.
If you need to send large attachments over 50MB, choose a Drive account. More information is available on this page.
